Unhappy Putting my Baby away for the winter

Well its time for the seasonal switch for the winter, so my TII is being garaged untill the sweet days of spring come around. Its really killing me guys i dont think i can be without my car for so long. Its my first year with her and man its been fun. I mean after 2 weeks of not driving her i start to go through withdrawal's so whats going to happen after 6 months!! Man i can even think about it...
Well i thought id use this time to fix all the problems my car has which is basically all the common TII related issues like idle, hesitation and such. But also a time for touch up and perfection of the paint, interior, and the beautiful amenities my car has.
But i just wanted to get some pointers from you guys on what else to do to keep my car in tip top shape for a period of time when it will not be used. And that is to say quite extensive

I bought my second '90 two years ago when living in NC for a year. If you believe Carfax, it had always been a southern car. Not a speck of rust and close to mint condition other than a few minor body dings.

The first one bought new in '90 was a daily driver and spent all but 2 months in lower Michigan. The long and shorth of it is the body of the original body was destroyed by what was surely road salt. It was fairly well cared for and car washed often during the winter. I got 228K out of the original engine and ended up junking it in '02 at 315K after deciding a new radiator was not worth it given the shape of the body.

Whatever the reason, garaging it during the winter may well starve the rust gremlins. Now back in MI and she is not driven winters. Unless you must drive your 7 in the snow belt best advice is to garage it during the winter.
