You can try! Also, there is a longer de-flooding procedure you can do. It requires you to remove the plugs. Plus your plugs may be fouled from the fuel.
But honestly, if its not catching at all...you might not have adequate compresion anymore.

I had that problem with my 88 Gtu, what I did was remove the fuel line (pressure side) from the throttle body and aimed the hose into an empty jug. Then I cranked the engine over to dry it out. About 2 total minutes of cranking (With breaks in between of course). Then I hooked the fuel line back on and the engine fired right up. If that doesn't work you may have to retry it and remove the plugs while you crank it over, then hook the fuel line up and reinstall the plugs. Another thing that helps with mine is to hold the accelerator to the floor while cranking the engine, if its flooded.

When you pop the clutch, the engine rpm is much higher than the 250 rpm when starting.
The higher rotating speed creates more centirifical force, which makes the apex seals push outwards more. This helps to seal the engine, and move the gas out of the combustion chamber.
Sometimes push starting is the only way to get an engine started... such as a single running rotor car, or a brand new engine using used rotor housings.
Push it downhill until you are going around 20 mph, then pop the clutch in second gear with the key in the RUN position.
