Purpose of solid trans mounts?

I was at the parts yard and found an rx-7 with soild transmission mounts. I grabbed them but I'm not sure if i want to use them. What's the advantage of soild trans mounts over stock ones?

Im not sure..but I think it allows for less movement of the transmission, resulting in more torque to the wheels? Not sure if I explained it in the correct terminology..but I know what Im trying to say!! :P

Oh, i figured the trans would move less. Duh! haha....so it would be easier to break the rear lose with sold mounts compared to stock?
