pumping gas = engine flood? (FAQ helped, but i have unanswered questions)
here is the info (continuing my previous post)
i found MANY "flooded, fuel smell posts" but these specific questions arnt addressed.
my neighbor wants an rx7 too and me being a nice guy i let him check mine out to see how they are. for some reason he assumed it was ok to pump the gas before even trying to start my engine (13B s4) it started fine so i didnt say anything but in the back of my mind i think of everyones warnings not to pump the gas.
since then my exhaust has smelled like gas, i checked my oil and it smells like gas (which ive never noticed as a problem on previous changes) and now my car has a hard time starting while hot, sometimes at slow speeds it stalls. (no problem starting while cold) and it didnt do that before (but i also took it off the road for 6months)
did my neighbor flood my engine? (in other words, would it flood over pumping the gas just once but he pumped three times in a row?) or is it something mechanical i need to fix?
also if the oil smells like gas (and is about 1K kms old) can i keep using it? or do i need to change it?

In a fuel injected car pumping the gas before starting the car does nothing. Now if you hold the gas down while cranking it, it will allow more air into the engine which will help start the car but it will not cause flooding. Low compression on an engine causes flooding. If your oil is smelling like gas then your oil seals are going in the car. Enjoy your car for now but I feel a rebuild coming on.

the FAQ say to do the coolant cap test, remove and start the car.... i have no coolant spilage, so shouldnt i be good for the compression?
also if pumping the gas does nothing then why do people emphasize not doing it?

There are oil seals and coolant seals. If your coolant seals are still good then you won't have oil or fuel in your system. But if your smelling fuel in your oil then your oil seals might be on their way out.

View the chart that is attached with this post. The fuel injected during the Start cycle is determined by the cranking speed, water thermo sensor, and the Start signal sent to the ECU from the start circuit when the key is held to START.
In other words flapping your foot will not add nor subtract the amount of gas involved in a start. It should allow more air though.

ok. i went out and checked my spark plugs (the old ones were carbony) now these news ones have been in for about as long as the oil (1K) ....... i checked them and theyre fine, the usual blackiness and tan colors.
is there another step i can walk through to trouble shoot this.

this is regarding gas smell in oil, and stalling while hot at low speeds, and hard starting while hot.....
it was mentioned to check my spark plugs and im just saying theyre normal
