Pulling engine from NA 88 rx-7

Hey, im probably going to be pulling the engine from my fc that i crashed . I was wondering if theres anything i should know to help me out. I have a haynes and will follow that procedure. Is there anything that the manual doesnt show good or leaves out? It looks pretty straightforward and easy. Any help is appreciated!

Oddly enough, this topic was just brought up a few days ago.

I just finished my swap of my '88 N/A a couple of months ago. All I have to offer is: take lots of pictures, label EVERYTHING (masking tape), video the process if you can. All these will come in VERY handy when putting it back in and scratching your head saying "where did this go again?" I followed the Haynes and Factory manual and was able to get it out pretty easily. Hope this helps.

Unplug the wiring harness from the ECU and pull it through the firewall before you yank it out. If you are getting a donor motor have the boneyard leave the wiring harness on and just drop it in and plug it up. We can change motors in 45 minutes at the track.
