There are a lot of wrong info all over their website.
I'd like to see another FC that is privately owned produce power gains with their pulley swap.

racing beat pulleys are slightly less underdriven,
plus you can bolt on your ac pulley if you want. everyones always quick to bad mouth pulleys, again here is the letter mazda racing sent me about the competition kit, which is even more underdriven

The Competition Series pulleys are a lot lighter and are slightly more underdriven then the Street Series Kit. This kit is still very streetable. In fact we took so long to release it because we've been doing some very extensive testing with it.

We have this kit in one of our daily driven first gens with a T2 engine in it. He drives this car as hard as physically possible, up hill at full throttle, in traffic, has it idle for 30 min or longer at a time, etc., etc., and we've not seen any problems with it.

Because this kit runs on a serpentine belt it has far more contact patch virtually eliminating belt slippage, and because this is a very light system your engine will rev smoother and faster then ever before. These kits are in stock and ready for sale. We have an introductory price of $195.00 which includes all 3 pulleys, a belt and a front main seal. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Sincerely,

Jeff Warner

if you want to try the pulleys go ahead. just be carefull to keep your eyes on the gauges at first

I think it would be a bigger problem if you still have the stock alternator.

Well the RP underdrive pulley is rather light compared to the "last part" of the pulley system, the last pulley and the pulley boss. But that's only the rotational mass part of the scheme. Underdriving looks to have a stronger effect with the AC, PS, and Air Pump intact, yet with the Mazda Racing Set, that doesn't seem possible. The RP pulley will support these 3 additional accessories.

I guess if someone had the time and money, they could go out and get a set of stock OD pulleys made of aluminum, just to get a dyno with the rotational mass loss. Then they could go out and get another set made, with the same weight as stock, yet underdrived, to show what difference in hp there would be just from underdriving the entire pulley system. Another worthwhile test would be, to test both of the first 2 custom systems with the AC, PS, and airpump removed.

It seems a little weird that with all the experts, no one has any actual proof of anything. Unless I've spoken too soon.
