Pulley Installation/Timing, Help!

I removed my distributor and pulley and need to installed again. How can I install the pulley to be sure that the timing marks are at the right position? I looked at the haines book but I am still not sure.

It only bolts on in one direction, the bolt holes are offset so that it can only fit back on in the right direction.
