Pulled both engines today

Yup, 9 am we started work on the cars... Pulled the engine out of the base, and it took longer than we expected , but 6 hours later the entire engine, transmission, and harnesses were all out..

Pushed that car out of the way and rolled the GXL up onto the lift and basically went to down on it. Took us 45 minutes to get the AC and PS pulled off the engine and put to the side and then the engine and tranny were also out..

Took a little break so we could kind of regroup on a game plan.. The engine mounts from the base model broke apart when we took them out, so we ended up reusing the mounts from the GXL, and then we came across another problem. The GXL has cruise control, and it's hooked into the upper intake and runs off a vaccum but on the base the vac line itself is plugged but there isn't a mounting spot for it like there is on the GXL upper.

So for right now we're not going to worry about getting the cruise control working right, our main concern is to make sure that the car start up and run correctly once we get everything all hooked back up and liquified..

I didn't take a single picture as really my hands were covered literally in oil, grease, and coolant all day and I wouldn't of been able to touch the camera with those hands so basically there are no images from the install.. All in all the difficulty level of the install isn't too bad..

Working with a guy who has been pulling engines for a while, we kind of used the first engine pull as our learning step, and then the 2nd engine was gravy.

So hopefully the GXL will be road ready sometime in the next few days

Yes this is an update, basically I'm bringing the GXL back to life... So the first step was to get a heartbeat pulsing.. Then it was to fix up the exterior, then the interior and then it's good to roll
