car: 87T2

I wanted to know how much power incresed by removing the power steering but not sure if i like my fc without ps. So what i did was just simply removed the ps belt, but this cause a prob to my t2... My car temp will actually rise up when the car in idle...(ie stopping on the red light) and cooled down again once i drove it...

Does anyone knows why is this?? any help will be greatlly appriciated..
