Project FC 500 mile update..

Well, it has taken me a while but the skittle finnaly has 500 miles on it, it has only had a few minor probs too, the first problem was it had a very bad leak on the front cover bolt, i ended out finding out i frogot the copper gasket., the second problem was at 250 miles the oil had so much blow buy the oil pressure was at 10-15 psi at idle(oil change brought it to 20). other than that it has been a great car, it has a slight clunk in the front end(i think i know the prob) the compresson on the engine is ummm quite low if you ask me(froget them numbers in my sig there over exargerted) the compression test i took today led me to the numbers of 80-80-80, 85-85-85 and them are hot, im not to worried about it because it starts great warm and starts great cold.. the idle is SoLID at 600-700 RPMS.. over all the car is a great fun car, i can feel the power greaten as i drive it more.. i have a escort e fan on it and it never goes over 190 and thats going up a hill in 100 degree weather. i cant wait till 1000-1500 so i can slowly bring it to 6k rpms.. but, its great, i have FINNALY welded in a rad support, it is geting 14-17 mpg city so im happy..

here are a few pics for your viewing enjoyment

It's good to see a rad support in there; it's also good to hear that it's running well.

So, when is it getting painted?

Felix, How did you deteremine that it was a side-seal gap? Side-seal gap wouldn't affect both rotors, and if it was a side seal, you'd also have one side of one rotor with little/no compression at all..

Any supporting reasons for thinking this?

What brand of paint? Do you have the additives as well? I may be interested in buying one gallon from you

Yeah, how did you figure that one out?

Did you use new sideseals and just grind them till they fit or something?

in one of my pics from the rebuild, you can clearly see a huge gap, the odd thing is that both of the rotors seemed to have 1 short side seal... who knows, im going ot my house to get my engine lift, then mowing the lawn then packing and shipping a bicycle then i will start to pull it i will stat a post for it called "The RE RE REBUILD"

blah o well learn from mastakes??? lets hope 3rd time is the charm
