I got bad news.. i think i will have to sell the project ='( .. i just received a call informing me that i will have to move out of state so unfortunately the build will need to be put on hold. I have a month and a half to pack and go so i will be selling lots of crap actually. Dang it! I was so freaking exited about this project and wanted to learn more about the powerplant. Somehow i will try to keep her but if i cant i wish she goes to good hands. I guess life threw me a curve ball.
I have already spent quite some money on as i sent the intake manifolds to get sand blasted and polished, sent the housings steam cleaned so i could get rid of all that coolant decay in the ports, spent all sort of pennies buying the proper cleaning tools (heck ill throw that with the deal), spent time measuring the housings, rotors, eccentric shaft, etc... and cleaned the begeezus out of the car making sure there was no rust, bent frames and none of that ish.
I hate to have come to this in such short time but life offered me a full scholarship for my masters degree in another state so i cant deny this opportunity. Will be posting a for sale thread in a few minutes. Let me know if anyone is interested. I will still sell the car for cheap, i will basically take my loses in towing the car, buying parts, measuring all parts and all that.

so sorry to hear that man. but life comes first and your doing the right thing. there will always be another rx7 waiting for you when the time is right! gl with your opportunity's and wish you the best. wish I could afford to grab this could use the parts haha. best of luck bro

I think i found a way to keep the FC but i need a running S4 or S5 Turbo motor ready to be dropped in. Basically i will be using her as my DD rather than my future fiancé's track car for the time being but when I'm back in town i could really dedicate her for my original purpose. I guess i could start some mods while i'm in school as well.
If anyone know of somebody selling one please let me know. This might be my only way to keep her at the time being. I have about a week or 2 max to find the engine.

the ECU plugs will not interchange.
you can use an S5 engine with an S4 harness but you need to use the S4 injectors/AFM/pressure sensor on the car and you would also need to premix the fuel since the OMP will be non functional.

Hmm interesting.. And what do you mean by premix fuel? Feel with oil like a two-stroke?

there's hundreds of threads about premixing alone on this website since the seals require lubrication much like a 2 stroke does.
everyone has their own opinion on the subject so you should figure out which steps you want to take.
the most common method is adding 1 ounce of 2 stroke oil per gallon of fuel before adding the fuel to the tank.
as for an engine, i would check craigslist, the local RX7 for sale sections, call local builders to see if they have any good used short blocks for sale and lastly, ebay or importers.

i think he asked about a good usable turbo engine, not doing a reverse swap just to get it running. i suppose that could be an option but he's going to be out about $1500 just to drive the car n/a.

Yeah.. I might just purchase an jdm S4 if I don't find a buyer in the next two weeks. Like that at least I'll have a drivable car. I'll take my time researching and building the other engine to my specs and custom fabbing exhaust manifolds, buying a larger turbine, and grabbing all supporting mods. It will definitely hurt my pocket while in school but I'll try to make something work (hopefully)
