I just got a 86 rx7 non turbo it needs some body work but and i just got the engine running today with new plugs and some carb cleaner but when i start it it revs to about 3-4rpm and drops and stalls if anyone can give advice on that problem that would be nice.it has about 124k miles and i also wanted to know what i could do to this to make it faster after i get everything running i was just thinking of dropping in a 87 TII in its with trans and turbo i found for about $1100 but i wanted to ask the experts first.



also i had to ask a question about my brothers car its a 87 rx7 TII and when he gets on it ,it started to spitter and backfire and i see the boost go to about half then drop dead he put a fuel defender on it and no change it smokes alot and he not sure what to do. someone told give its leaking oil into the turbo and thats whats causeing a problem any advice would be apreciated.

 

Car A
1. take a few minutes and do a compression check. You have some miles on that dog and it would be good to know where you stand B4 you dump big bucks.
2. Finish the tune-up COMPLETLY
3. Ground ground gound - s4's had some bad grounding, do a search on 3800 hesatation.

Car B, I am not a big turbo guy so I will pass on that one.

 

Jokajinx with the cash sell the N/A and with the extra cash buy a decently running TII....

you know where i can find an better one for about 1500 because i hve seen any around where i live and the rest are like 5 states away
