Problems with Shifting

I'm having a really hard time shifting to 3rd and 4th sometime and everytime I shift to 5th it make a sound as if I didn't step on the clutch. What would be the general problem for these problem? And would getting a short shifter smooth out the shifting process ??

Thank guys

A short shifter wont fix it. Your synchros in your gearbox are gone. If you want it to stop crunching you could try changing gear box oil. It could be your clutch needs to be changed. OR you might need a gearbox rebuild

My car feels notchy until it warms up. What weight oil is best for these manual transmissions?
