Hey guys I just bought an 87 gtu I think iy has no rear wiper and 4 lugs, anyways the car has a headache producing vibration due to a fubared drive line the car wont start when hot idles up and down going rmmmp p p p p from 2k to 1.5k i dunno i think its the tps looking forward to wire the 5 6 ports car bogs really bad and the front seal leaks and smokes like a **** laters go to love them rotaries

 

Yep, check the TPS, sounds like you need to check everything, lol...Vac leaks, sensor inputs, 60K tune-up, grounds (the OEM ones, not the add-ons), etc...

 

FWIW 4 lugs on and 87 means it's a base/SE model, not to be confused with the GSL-SE. But the wheel pattern is the same.

The GTU came out in 88 and replaced the base model but had the upgraded suspension.

I once bought an 86 4 lugger that had GXL stickers on the front fenders. Truth in advertising?
