Problems adding coolant into newly installed engine
Ok, so I finally got the engine from my parts car installed and I have been trying to add coolant to it. I am adding it though the cap on the t-stat housing. Now from everything I have read, it seems like you should just be able to add the coolant normally. On my car I got maybe 1/3 of the first gallon in and it started backing up. I would wait and add a little more while it slowly trickled in, but now it has pretty much stopped, and I barely even have half of a gallon in.
I tried firing it up to see if that would help circulate it, but its not wanting to start. It will crank then occasionally backfire, but I'd like to get the coolant filled up before I start jacking with that.
Anyway, any help is appreciated.

I just remember that you it helps to put on the cap then pump the upper rad hose. I did that and I got it to work.
Now I just need to figure out how to start it, but I think I'm gonna start a new thread with the right title.
