problem or in need of a fcd?

i have an 89TII stock motor 20-30k on a rebuild about 10k on the turbo. mindtrain turbo back exhaust. So anyway i was getting on the freeway was flooring it was in third id say about 5k rpm and all of a sudden it felt like i hit a wall just a complete loss of power. so i let off the gas still in third gave it gas not full pedeal just normal and everything was fine. did it again when i was going to pass a car dropped it to 4th from 5th floored it same thing let off the gas and everything was normal. is this a sign of something wrong with my car or am i producing to much boost and the computer is cutting fuel back. another i dea i had is i was pushing it hard and it was pretty hot out could something have been heat soaked? dont know what the syptoms of that are though.

Yes, that could be fuel cut. It happens at only 8.6 psi. But I do not recommend adding an FCD if you have a completely stock fuel system. That will just allow you to overboost and blow the engine. The best thing you can do is port the wastegate to keep boost levels in check: http://fc3spro.com/TECH/HOWTO/KWG/kwg.html.
