Problem with my Apex'i Dual N1 exhasut system

I have a 88 TII and i put an apex'i Dual N1 exhasut system last week. After i put the dual N1 exhasut, my boost dont go up as far as before, it bounce up and down very slowly. i dont feel the power as before. What is the problem with my dual N1? Does anyone has an idea? does anyone who has the same dual N1 has same problem? Thanks for help me out guys.

most likly your hitting fuel cut.. get a FCD for $95 or do a search for a DIY one and that should fix the proble,..

Try to be a little more specific and maybe we can try and pin point it down. I assume you mean the car ran and boosted just fine prior to putting on the dual n1 exhuast? If your boosting less after putting on the catback than obviously something is going on. My number would guess would be a clogged cat. Does this have anything to do with putting on the catback? I don't think so, it's just one of those things that happens to 15 year old cars. Do you have emissions testing where you live? If not just punch out the cats and clear all the honeycomb crap out of there, although I'd wear gloves since the stuff inside of there is supposed to be carcigenic.

What boost levels are you currently seeing, and what were they before the exhuast? When you say it bounces up and down, do you mean the idle, or the boost, I'm a little confused by that statement so maybe you can clarify. As of now I would guess clogged cat.

I have a stright pipe, no cat. The boost bounces up and down while it is boosting.

hrm... if you put a gasket on wrong it could cause the air to cavitate in your exhaust pipe? a long shot....

How is the condition of your clutch? I had a similar problem with a turbo II I had. I was boosting about 5 to 6 psi then I added a full turbo back racing beat exhaust and then the car only boosted to 4 or 5 psi. Come to find out, it ended up being a slipping clutch. The clutch was slipping because of the added power, causing less resistance on the engine which was causing less boost pressure. I have seen this happen on some friends cars also. Good luck.

Uh, not true at all. My blown motor held perfect boost in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. My rear rotor is completely dead (not 1 seal left in it).

no no if you have no compression at all it wont affect boost but if its low compression it will i dunno how to explian it but the pulses are different patterened now like strong weak strong weak.... not like strong nothing strong nothing... see what im saying? its hard to explain but all the 13bts that ive seen with shakey boost have had low compression on one the rotors

The s4 manifolds combines the exhaust pulses before the turbo anyways. So that kills that argument.

How many miles on the turbo itself? Have you checked for exhaust leaks around the turbo/manifold area?
