Problem with information cluster
Alright, here's the problem. As far as I know, every car has a way for you to turn all of the dummy lights on so that you can make sure that they work. According to the manual, you have to have the key in the on position and the e-brake activated. However, when I do this...nothing. Just the ebrake light. Is there some special trick to this? I know its not working, because I can force the other lights on, or at least the door ajar and the hatch open one.
Thanks,
Chris

In the FAQ thread they address that problem. On a lot of cars it's the cold solder joints on the Warning Light Cluster. You might get access to that plug and wiggle it a bit to see if the lights come on with the key to ON.
On a series four, what causes them to come on is a relay in the CPU putting a ground on the warning light display. What makes that relay pull in, is a ground from the alternators White/Black wire, when the alternator isn't turning/working.
99% of the time the problem is the coldsolder joints on the Warning Light assy itself. Not the plug that attaches to it, but the jack on the Warning Light itself.
