problem during decel / moving without throttle input
A little background about the car,
Fresh rebuild with 587 miles on the motor, 6 port turbo. 550cc pri, and 720cc sec have not been over 4k yet.
The problem I am having is while I'm cruising in 5th or 4th gear sometimes 3rd and let of the accelerator I am getting a grinding sound. I don't know how to explain it but it sounds like its coming from the transmission area. Today it did in 2nd gear when I was 3/4 off the clutch. I cant describe the grinding but it sounds high pitched and metallic like. Not like brakes grinding but like the sound if you ding something on the exhaust or drive-shaft.
I am going to try and record a video later and see if I can show you.

Ok, so I couldn't get good video of it, but I put the car in the air to check things out underneath. I know my car was an automatic in its lifetime, but was standard when I bought it. The car is an 88 GXL btw. I was going to swap out the drive shaft from my 87 GXL but when I got underneath the car this drive shaft on the vehicle in question is twice the size of the 87 GXL if not more. I'm not sure if this is the wrong drive shaft, or if the car has a TII rear end and someone stuck an auto driveshaft in here. Could it be a TII or auto drive shaft with the N/A shaft welded on? Im clueless here. I took a picture of the gap between the transmission and the shaft. I didn't want to go ahead and pull the drive shaft just to find out the other one didn't fit. Im not sure if that is normal or its a bit too short. Anyway, any input would be extremely helpful.
