Pro FI cleaning? *POLL*

My SE has about 54k original miles on it. I currently have the UIM off and have access to the fuel rail.

I don't really have any issues with them, but before I bolt the UIM back on I'm curious as to if it's worth having the injectors cleaned. If so is it worth the "PRO" servicing found online or should I just follow the FSM procedure?

the only Real way to clean the injectors is to have them removed and cleaned professionally.
No Miracle bottle of Super-Juice is going to clean them.
If your car is showing problems of Fuel delivery then I would do it while you have the Manifold off and have access.Otherwise I would leave it alone.

If you have everything apart anyway and don't mind the car being down a few days, then yes, I'd say have them cleaned. You don't need to send them away most likely. Just check the Yellow Pages for "injection service" or "diesel injection". Most communities have a local shop that will do them. The place I use, for example, is a 10 minute drive from my house and will have the injectors ready next day for $25 per injector. Plus they always throw in extra o-rings, grommets, etc.

having had injectors seize up before after off car servicing i'm not sure how i feel about servicing them on an n/a car that ran fine prior and it isn't a critical procedure to follow. for turbo cars it is a bit more critical to have equal fuel delivery as a safety precaution.
