Exclamation primary air bleed direction?

im about to put everything back together. At the primary injectors, i took the plate, the bleed, and the injectors out. Injectors are cleaned and flow tested. All o ring replaced with new part, new insulators, and ready to go back into the engine. so the plate is in and line up to the notch. As for the center piece aka air bleed, does the flat side face down or up? I dont remeber how it came out , from looking at the fsm it seems that the flat side should face up. i just want to be sure before i stick it in, with new o rings its going to be tight and pretty hard to dig it back out. Many thanks.

there is a lip for the o-ring, it faces down to push the o-ring into the groove against the bottom plate. if it's reversed you will know because the o-ring will constantly want to fall off the bleed. once the air bleed is in all you can see is the phenolic plastic, reversed you will see the chamfer and o-ring.

ok so once it's into the hole I should only see that ugly brown-ish plastic. no o-ring. then I just stick that insulator into the injector and "push" it against the plastic.

ok, got it. Thx

another question. the upper "rubber" thing on the injector, between the o-ring and the injector body. Mazda called this part "GROMMET"

do you push the whole "grommet" into the fuel plusation damper? or just "leave it outside" and let the PD push it against the injector body like in the picture??

I tried to push the grommet into the hole but the PD's hole is so small it doesn't seem logical(possible?) to push it in with the injector head. so now I just leave it outside like this.

right? no ?

Looks good to me. There are O-rings to keep the fuel from coming out. Those "grommets" are not for sealing but to keep the injectors pressed into their place together with the big rubber rings at the head of the injector. My injectors weren't touched since Mazda delivered the car to the first owner and looked the same when I disassembeled them to clean them up some weeks ago.

the grommets are an absorber to take up the space. the do not actually go inside the rail.

cool cool, I just don't want any fuel leak. cuz it's exhaust manifold right down there and any fuel leak will NOT be fun.

will go ahead and start connecting all the wires and try to locate the missing screws ...

Thx guys
