pretty sure i blew the motor.
Well long story short i took of my intake. Saw the tb butterflies. a couple were really hard to move. so i started the car up and gave it a lil gas and BANG. The car dies.
Now when is start it i have to give it gas to keep it from dieing and it sounds nasty. The engine light is on also.
I guess its time for a new engine

if your saying that the throttle is very stiff... it isn't because your motor is blown up, it's because there is something binding up with either the linkage or the cable
and if you really think your motor is blown, do a compression test

Stuck throttle plates wouldn't blow the engine unless they went wide open and took you on a 100 mph 9k RPM ride. Since you're still alive, I'm going to assume that didn't happen.
More info would be nice, maybe you just left your mass air unplugged or something. It seems unlikely it blew from messing with the butterflies. Did you connect the throttle cable properly?
Sounds more like a big backfire to me. Probably blew off a large vaccume line which is why it has trouble running. Check the engine code to fine out what the computer thinks is wrong.
From the sounds of it you were just free reving it, correct me if i'm wrong. Without load it is unlikely you detonated and blew an apex seal, and if you did blow a seal I'd say it was less from what you did and more that it was ready to go anyway.
Check the code and then decide whether the engine is blown or not.
