Pressure testing cooling system, on short block
Hey I've got an S5 NA short block that I'm told is good by a good friend of mine, But I'd like to test that the coolant o-rings don't need replacing before I do all the work putting it into the car. I was thinking of capping all of the coolant passageways, & then leaving but one open, the highest one, probably the thermostat cover. I'd then fill with water, & cap w/ a piece that has a valve on it, which would allow me to pump it up using a bicycle pump, or similar device.
Will this be a sufficient method? Is there a better way to do this? Thanks for the help.
I should add- looking through the Leading plug holes, both rotors look quite dry, w/ no corrosion or rust/water, & just a slight bit of oil residue/dampness near the apexs of the rotors.
