Pressure plate tourqe numbers.

I need to know how tight the pressure plate in a 2ND Gen RX-7 GXL S4 needs to be. As well as the bell housing itself.

If only Mazda released some sort of service manual that could be easily accessed via the stickeys at the top of this forum...

Bellhousing bolts are fuckintite--like 65 Ft lbs IIRC. You really don't need to torque these, imo, just make them tight, then another 1/8 turn or so.

Pressure plate bolts are like 36 ft lbs, IIRC. Don't quote me on that though, so check the manuals, n00b.

Those numbers could be off by as much as 10-15 ft/lbs... I just looked that **** up like a week ago, too.

Do what arghx said.

Die in a fire, n00b. The numbers I gave you are relatively close.

All the information you could ever need for a basic stock car, including ALL torque specs are in those manuals. Don't get pissed at us because you can't read a book.

And here's your information, that took me 30 seconds to find in the Haynes manual, which you, for some reason or another "couldn't find."

pp to flywheel: 1989 and earlier : 13-20
1990 and later : 18-26

transmission to engine bolts : 1989 and earlier : 27-38
1990 and later : 37-52

I'll let you guess whether they are in/lbs or ft/lbs.

Oh yeah, read the FAQ's at the top of the page and use the search button, almost everything ever asked has been covered at one point or another.
