Premix: Best way to carry the oil?

Okay, so my original OMP went, shot the computer, got a used computer/OMP off of ebay, but it lasted only about a month. So rather then mess with yet another unknown used OMP, I've decided to install the Rtek chip (http://www.digitaltuning.com/index.p...age=1&ecu=S5NA).

For those premixing, what's the best/easiest you've found to carry the premix oil that you can quickly use while at the pump?

Of course I did a search, but came up with hundreds of post on premixing !

i found at the grocery store a refrigerator ice holder, not the tray you make ice in, but the one you put the ice into after you made it.

the tray fit right into the spare tire, and then you can put the oil and funnel and all that other crap right there

I just carry a gallon jug of 2 stroke, a liquid measuring cup, and a funnel in the spare tire area. Makes for interesting conversation at the pump too.

"Whatcha doin there?"

"Measuring out 2 stroke oil"

"........ you know that's a car, right?"

You can get the small bottles of premix which carries 16oz and slide that into the side of your door for when you need to use it. Buy a big gallon jug and refill the 16oz after you've used it up.

For best practices, I usually like to drive it down all the way to -E- before I fill up... better way to gauge how much to throw in... typically right around 1oz per gallon but can play with that ratio depending on how you drive your car and for what purpose.... more if you're going to race/track it... or less if it's just freeway/casual driving.

Why not just convert to S4 OMP? Or better yet, S4 OMP with the RA adapter.

I use golden spectro 2-stroke oil for the dirtbikes. Link: http://www.spectro-oils.com/products...denspectro.asp

They come in 12oz and 64oz bottles. I usually buy the big bottle to save on costs, and measure into one of the smaller bottles. The small ones have a transparent section and every oz labeled. You could possibly carry two of the small bottles with you that you already measured out with you for on the go.

I'm not sayin that the oil is rotary approved? (probably is?) But use the bottles.

Too late, already bought the chip and don't mind premixing...the oil is always clean that way. I bought 5 gallons of 2 stroke oil at Walmart, but now I'm trying to figure out a simple and easy way to carry a small amount with me that I can throw in the tank when filling up.

Walmart had this measure funnel with a cap, but it leaked like crazy. I didn't know if there was some generic container that people like to use, but it sounds like everyone just comes up with there own method to carry the oil.

i use both premix and injection, when I premix i use a 16oz redline bottle, you dont need a funnel with this style bottle, fill it at home with a gallon jug.
if you drive alot keep 2-3 of them in your car at once.
the redline bottle is clear so you can easily see how much you have put in

Do you still need to use a funnel? I think that's the part I want to get away from. Looking for something that I can just put in to tank filler pipe. This is what I got at Walmart but it leaked badly, the Autozone probably isn't any better:

The S4 omp is mechanical and to run it on an S5 you need the Rtek chip so no loss there. With the RA adapter you put your 2stroke in a remote reservoir and the omp injects it into the engine for you.

I had that same one, but I found it to be nothing but a problem. Initially, it works well. The funnel tends to trap a lot of the oil, which required me to flush it down with some gas, then I put the funnel in the car, which led to the fumes choking me as I drove away.

There was a writeup on here some time ago, in which the guy modified the rear wiper bottle to inject oil directly into the tank. He timed how long it took to inject 1 oz into the tank, and just held the button for however many ounces he needed. Not the most accurate method, but it's clean and out of sight. Plus the rear tank holds a good amount.

Can't find the writeup, but heres another alternative.

These let you retain the stock injection capability, but takes the oil from an external source.

Yeah, that's true, forgot that you would need the Rtek chip anyway. I suppose if premixing becomes a pain I will look at going that route.

the real beauty of the adapters is having them work off throttle position, so without a s4 throttle body and mechanical linkage to the s4 OMP it will always drip in there, which is shitty when your at idle or stuck in traffic.

im sure there are similar bottles out there, but this is the one I was talking about.

I also have paper cups, no wax liner, that I got from costco, I think they are 4oz, they are like the small ones you get at the dentist, these can be crushed a bit to make their own funnel. Pour the oil in your tank and toss the cup in the trash so you dont have to have a funnel that will forever secrete oil. A huge package of these cups is like $10 at costco and they take up very little room.

i use a quart oil bottle to carry in the car. Buy a gallon of 2 stroke oil and leave that at home.

And i have this with me
5 hour energy drink bottle is 2 ounces

So if i put in 8 gallons, i do 4 bottle fulls . Peal the label off and its just a white bottle, easy simple measuring device. =p

Sweet, i've been trying to find a 16 ounce bottle that fits directly into the gas tank. That way you can do all of the messy stuff at home and just keep some of those bottles in the trunk.

As far as lube goes, nothing the factory has ever made will do as good a job as premix. They are not oil injectors they are oil drippers.

I buy a gallon at a time and have a bottle with ounces marked on the side that I refil. Make yourself a cheat sheet for each hash mark on your guage, If you need gas just pour in as much as required and your done. Eventually you wont need the cheat sheet.

Man some of you make this WAY too hard. Dump it in, pump a tiny bit in the part before the flapper, push the nozle in, reapeat a few times and fill up.
