You don't have to get creative.
Most of the same vendors have RX-7 specific kits.

when i sold my '90 Prelude winter beater last summer, i gave the short ram intake to my buddy and he put it on his stock turbo. Actually fit perfectly, coupler and everything. He only used it for last summer till his bigger turbo came in but it worked perfectly, heres a pic.

microtech, haltech, mega squirt, aem, sakuta all are standalone engine management systems so you can finely tune your car instead of having the stock ecu that is good for near stock but not good for higher hp applications.

to tell you the truth probably not but every little bit helps on an n/a. the best thing to do is do a search and find what people do about the vac hoses cause I really don't know as I've got a turbo and ems so i don't use any vac hoses or the stock afm.

Even with a small hp gain, it does clean up the engine bay IMO. That stock intake takes up far too much room.

better throttle response?

btw if i get the two piece, should i have the second piece (on the filter side) plumb downwards towards the ground so as to get cooler air? is there anything in the way? i havnt taken out my stock box so i don't know how it looks down there.

oh yeah and can i just use the hacksaw? dremel?

The plastic air pump exhaust muffler & the windshield washer tank are both in the way.

The best performance mods for a California NA are weight reductions.

And maybe an S-AFC to lean it back to a better tune.

Stand alone fuel controller= safc. unless you get a carb sticker intake, you wont pass CA smog. The HKS and the K&N setup are the only ones I know of that are carb/smog legal and they are pricey. Just keep the old stuff around for smog.
