Power windows

Do the RX-7's (86-91) have problems with the power windows? It seems that i have to repair both windows. How much (once i get the parts) would it cost me to get a mechanic to fix this for me?

My power windows suck they always are nery slow and sometimes dont go up all the way, I can't imagine they would be cheap to have fixed. If they dont work all together it may be the power window switch itself.

yeah the switch is the most common problem, but if it is the motor and regulator for the window, it could be over $500 a window, for parts and labor for a mechanic to fix it.

I would be checking the switch and ground first, to make sure it is sending out 12volts.

And frankly I would be very reluctant to have any mechanic work on my windows or electrical. Generally they only know how to fix by replacing, rather than what the real problem is.

What's going on with the windows?

If they won't work then you probably need to clean the switches that are in the arm rest. Almost zero cost.

If they are slow, you probably need to clean and lubricate the "chain of *****" that are in the lower part of the door. Almost zero cost.
