power window problems

power window problems

I just wanted to know if anyone know why my pass side power window would just stop working.. It worked fine one day the next it would not work.. I checked all of the fueses all are good if anyone can help please let me know thanks

the switch internals might be burnt. open it up and file the black stuff on the prongs off. to do a quick test to make sure the motor is still good you can take the plug going to the door light and plug it into the window motor (same size plug). to make it go back up just reverse the wires with some extra wire laying around.

Those stupid switches for the power windows on our FC's suck. They have copper (I think it's copper) rockers inside the switch that love corrosion. I hope the engineers that came up with this design put the crack pipe down and walked away from it. That's thing #403785 on my list of stupid **** to fix on my car. I'll probably end up fabbing some plates and putting radio shack momentary switches with a relay (or something along those lines) to make it work with some consistency.


Sorry.... I get really sick of having to pull that switch out every time it decides to stop working and I get caught in the rain. (which especially sucks with a convertible)
