Icemark is most likely correct. In most cars, if the passenger side windows switch is bad, both the driver side and obviously the passenger side would not work. It COULD still work going one direction but if one part of the circuit in the passenger side switch is not working, you can not control that function on the driver side either.

Recently had same problem. Solution ^^^^^^, 5 cents worth of emory cloth, 400 grit sandpaper, on male ends, presto. A step further for the DOG, a lot of my recent electrical problems have been either dirty connections, or, from continually reading, and first hand experience, blind solder engineer. Many cold solder contacts, or just 1/10 of what is necessary for successful adhesion. ^^^^^^^These guys are good!
