Question power window problem

Hey all,
I've been getting my 10th AE up and running and am having a problem with the passenger power window. It don't do jack. I've checked the switches and everything is working up to the connector to the motor itself. I tested the resistance of the motor and got <2 Ohms. Not KiloOhms, just ohms. Seems a little low but my shop manual doesn't have the values for that. When I jump the motor by wiring it to the power leads at the switch, nothing happens. No noise at all to indicate that the motor is alive. I put my DMM in series to check for current flow and am seing none at all. That's the part that's throwing me. At 11-ish volts and 2 ohms, I should be seeing a lot of current flow. I'm kinda stuck. I thought of wiring the motor directly to the battery but I'm afraid of melting things. Should I be worried?
Thoughts?

can you roll it down using the driver's side switch?

if you can, but cant roll it down using the passenger switch.. then make sure its not stuck on "lock", and try replacing the passenger side switch.

yah i had that same problem. the passenger side switch was causing the problem for me. i got a new one and then i cleaned the driver side copper rocker things that are inside the switch itself. i was stuck for a few days trying to find the problem. i bent the copper rockers in the driver side a bit just to make them rock better.

another thing that I found to be bad with mine is that if the driver side switch didnt work the passenger side wouldnt go up or down.

if you want to check if the motor is working, take the wire that goes to the light on the door(the one that lights up when the door is opened) and plug it into where the window switch plugs into, for me this made the window go down, but once it goes down you cant get it to come back up with out using the window switch.
also i dont know if this will fry anything but it didnt for me so you can try it if you want
i hope this helped,

when i added power windows to mine i found that my passenger regulator would not move. i very carefully disassembled the regulator to find that the wheel that gets turned by the motor was so was soooooo dirty and gunked up that it was stuck and would not spin, even by hand. after an extreme cleaning it functions properly.

just might wanna check it.
