Power steering computer

Is it possible to remove the sensor behind the steering wheel and jumper it to full power assist?

Since the car is stationary when the ignition is turned off, the stepper motor that varies the assistance should be in the full-assist position at that time. So if you unplug the controller with the ignition off, there's nothing to tell it to move from that position when the car's started and driven.

I've never done this (and can't think why you'd want to). Why don't you do it and tell us?
