Power Seatbelt door catch switch

im looking for help from anyone that has had to replace the door catch switch that is in the door lock assembly that works the power seatbelts, can this be done while still in the door or will i have to take out the lock assembly to get to it. Ive had both motors replaced through mazda from the recall but they told me the door catch switch wasnt covered in the recall. Thanks.

You have to take out the handle.
With the window up, you can get the handle nuts through the access holes in the door panel.

Before you take it out, did you clip a meter on the plug to verify if it's the switch or the connector?

FYI: The power seatbelts in the S5's are a factory recall. Mazda will fix it for free if you'd like. However I'd reccomend doing it yourself if possible. Just thought you'd like to know in case things get out of hand.

well the pic i got out of the FSM is kinda hard to tell exactly where it was located and i was told it was in the door lock, meaning the part that catches the striker on the b pillar. but the more i look at the pic and think about it and from what you said its actually part of the door handle?
