power antenna broken?

power antenna broken?

my antenna doesn't work anyone know how to fix it?

If it's just plain broke you can buy a used one from a junk yard, there is only like 2 plugs, and 2 10 mm bolts. If you put a CD player in your car, and you haven't run a relay from the CD player to the antenna you need to do that for it to work.

Mines broke too, just shave it off... You dont need radio, I know i dont. lol

Yeah or you could just get a CD player since we have no good radio stations were I am at anyway.

whats this relay you speek of? cant you just p[lug the power antenna wire from the deck to the power antenna wire?

Not if it is an aftermarket radio. Aftermarket radios only send out 12V+ at about 200mA on their antenna or amp turn on leads...

The '80s and some '90s Mazda used a negtive trigger so you would need to wire a relay to invert the signal when using an aftermarket radio with the stock antenna.

Wiring has been covered probably 50 times, so you may wish to search if you need to know how to wire an extra relay for the power ant.

No you can't do that, Maybe Icemark will explain it he has done it before I'm not real sure on how to do it so I don't want to try t explain it and tell you wrong.

I pulled it out, shaved it off, and rely on an aftermarket internal antenna that works about 6 times better than the oem anyway

it was broken when i got it its connected to a switch but all it does is make a clicking noise but it doesn't go down.

dude u can buy a universal electric one from ur local autoparts store or u can probly go to the junkyard, i had to install an interior type one cos most of the cars in the junkyard had broken antennas!! goodluck!! PEACE!!
