Post your winter project pics! (heres mine)

Well unfortunately its winter time but fortunately its time to work on the car. Last winter was the engine, this winter its the full suspension. Everythings coming along slowly but surely. Here is a pic of the whole project as it takes place in the garage. Excuse the mess.

Heres a pic of a new struts and coilover along side of the old original junk.

Heres a pic of the original caliper and a beed blasted and rebuild caliper.

A nicely beed blasted lower control arm with new poly bushings installed.

Heres a new sway bar next to the old stock one.

And finally a pic of a beed blaster and painted spindle.

Sorry about the kinda boring pics. I'll have more pics of the completed front suspension when its all done. Heres what the front suspension is all going to consist of:
-KYB AGX shocks
-Ground Control coilovers
-RacingBeat sway bars
-RacingBeat adjustable sway bar end links
-RacingBeat stainless braided brake lines
-Energy Suspension poly bushings
-Still undecided on the pads and rotors.

Everyone post pics of your projects in the works.

Thanks for the compliment. Yes I did all the bead blasting. It really makes the cleaning part easy.

Harbor Freight has some affordable blast cabinet. This is the one I have and it goes on sale all the time. If you are close enough to one of their retail stores it would be pretty handy to keep an eye on their sale ads.

It came out ok, I guess. The car will be getting repainted within the next 3 or 4 months and I will address the fitment issue a little more but as of now it doesnt fit too bad.

Wow, that is great you have garage space and a second car to drive. I like that setup man. If I had that I would never stop tinkering with my car!

Why do you not use new mounts on those coilovers?

Well, it's FAR from winter (in fact we only have two seasons, where i live.. wet/dry )
over here in Australia but my project is my Turbocharged N/A engine.
It's all finally coming together, slowly....

Here are a few pics of where its at right now.
Sorry for the bad quality pics, need to get myself a good digi-cam one day

(note: not very many pics on site right now, will be uploading some more later tonight, specificly of the turbo..)

I still have somethings that I need to get. Im still not sure what I want to go with yet. I may just buy a stock replacement or I may go with an adjustable camber plate.

I just finished most of that same stuff. Are you swapping the rear bushings? Those are much harder than the front; I did a little write up on it, but you seem to know what you're doing, hehehe. Now I wish I bead blasted all of my stuff. I started scraping crap off of the front control arms but they were not coming out that damn nice. I cant imagine the look on the mechanics face when he/she gets under there for an alignment when you're done. They'll be like "so; which team do you race for?" Mine was all dirty and slimy and the guy was still impressed. The mechanic was also very happy with Mazda's design of the rear suspension and it's ease of adjusting; one bolt does it all.

I went with the RacingBeat front end lowering kit for my front struts. I didn't want to put back on any stock parts and the lowering kit will let you keep a little suspension travel and still keep the car pretty low. I guess camber plates would be even better.

Looks like you're making a head turner. Are you planning on hitting some auto-x events or track days now?
