My story ended peacefully, and is actually kind of funny. I had only had my 88 'vert for one week, and it totally gave me a scare. I got in the car after class one morning, and start the car, it started up really goofy and made a grinding noise. So i'm like "eh, what the fudge" and turn off the car and turn try to crank it again. NOTHING HAPPENS! EEEEEEK! I hear the starter spinning, but nothing is happening. I was on a slight hill so I tried a little pop-da-clutch action, and bam it started right up. To make this long story shorter, I got home looked under the car and the damn starter had fallen off! FALLEN OFF. One of the bolts fell out.

It is aggitating when people call it pop! I call it soda, and i'm from GA where everyone calls it coke.

I mean like emotionally sore... I had a headache the rest of the day and a big area of skin scratched off my lower back from scraping the seat but I was alright.

The total cost in repairs was $5,500. So yeah it was totaled so the insurance company gave me $2,000 for the car and I bought it back from them cuz it still ran great. So basicly they paid off the car.
