first thing's first.... the muffler shop does have a mandrel pipe bender i hope?!

you can also have angled pipes cut and welded to get the right fitment. my FMIC project hasn't started yet and i don't plan on putting it in the traditional position way up front anyhow so it would be of little use to you.

What kind of core did you get? I think if you got a core similar to the greddy one you can just order the greddy fmic pipes alone.

There was a thread a few months back, where a lot of people including myself, posted pictures of their FMIC installs and pipe routing....

Pipes are 180 degree 2.5 inch mandrel bends, cut in half to make 90's, or more or less to get other angles. I ground them till they fit exactly and then marked them with a sharpie across the joints with "a" "b" ect on the marks so that the weld should could just line up the marks and put it together. Fit just like i fabbed it up when i got the pipes back

My piping is similar, except the turbo outlet goes down, eliminating the first bend, the piping(2.5") goes between the steering rack, and the sway bar. I went with a thinner larger core for better flow through the core. carl

no prob..... it took about 4 hours maybe more to get everything in.......

took soo long because its a little hard to weld on the ground (props to 2a+ron for the welding)
all custom mounting.... just mount it to wherever it fits....
i think the easiest way to get measurements for the piping is to use the flexible dryer hose.. get the shape and **** first then start cutting and welding.

good idea. we have this exhaust tubing that is 2.5" diameter and bends easy but holds shape. i might try using that.

There are bolts that hold the compressor housing to the CHRA, loosen those bolts, and rotate the compressor to whatever position you desire. It's called clocking the compressor. Carl

Intercooler sits here

I cut holes here

and here

Pipes are made out of a 180 mandrel bend cut into two 90's and rotated 180 degrees and welded back together to make an S shaped jog through the radiator support.

One word of advice.... there is one problem with mounting the IC like this.... it makes running an electric fan not a good idea if you have the stock bumber on the front...

the end tanks (mine are 3X8X3) take away about 48 square inches of duct space....

My black magic fan had a hard time pulling through the thicker Koyo rad AND the FMIC.. No prob with stock fan..n (in fact it runs a bit to cold in the winter..) but I'm working on making an aluminum underbelly pan to duct air in from under the FMIC and thus get more air to the rad with less restriction...... and I'll try the e-fan again.
