possible turbo problem?

i was swapping my LIM gaket (pita for me), and in the process i think i might have done something to the turbo. even thought i was pretty consistant with blocking off the inlets of the manifolds and turbo, the removal of the turbo was pretty sketchy and sloppily done by myself. it sort of banged up against some things while putting up a fight, and after reinstallation of everything, i started the car and in the uper 2000s/lower 3000s, there was this whining noise that sounded like a supercharger or a belt that was loose.. i am trying to be more mechanically inclined, instead of just book smart, but its experiences like this that make me not be too confident. please tell me i didnt ruin my turbo

It would be hard to damage the turbo by banging it around.

Did you separate the turbine or compressor housing?

Noise could just be a vacuum leak, or a slipping belt...
