Hi,

I recently got my Rx-7. I'm new with cars but am learning. My problem is whenever I shift at at speeds faster than 20mph into 2nd gear, the shifter makes a loud grinding noise and rattles. I have the clutch pressed all the way when I shift. I ran a search on the forum and am thinking it is the 2nd gear synchro, but I wanted to make sure with experts on this forum. My friend said it's possible it's the synchro on the transmission. Also it's leaking transmission fluid (reddish color), could that possibly be why my shifting isn't smooth?
