Possible Tranny Problem? or something else?

well after i tried to get my car smogged and was told i could only go to a test only station i came home around 10:00pm

the following morning i had to go to work only to discover the car doesnt run.. well it runs...


but its like. . in any gear (its auto btw)

it will like run then like not put power to the ground... so like i will be pusshing the gas.. and it goes to like 6k rpms and the car just jumps a lil bit. then it wont pull... so i dunnno what the hell is going on...

any ideas?

iam thinking tranny... but i hope to god its not.... if it is then its time to do a auto to 5 speed swap...

O.k. First of all stop with the "LIKE", you sound like a girl!

Sounds to me like it's something to do with your clutch..

Sounds like the auto went south. Before you jump, check trans fluid and also filter. If filter clogged, same symtoms.

hmm... iam gonna check the Tranny oil when i get home...

but filter?

did u mean air filter?

Automatics have a filter so as shavings and debris do not enter system. The filter is inside the pan. AutoZone has them for 15.00.

Quick story. Years ago my daughter had an Ford Escort. She stopped at a light and when traffic started the car wouldn't move. Had it towed home. Next day started it, and it wouldn't move when in drive. Dropped pan, replaced filter, and she drove the car 2 more years while she was in college with no problems.
