Possible Power Window Bead repair?

My driver's side window doesn't go up all the way. Actually it gets a couple inches from the top and then just starts to bounce up and down. After taking a look around the regulator I found that the beads that the motor grabs are slightly worn. I'm trying to save some funds and find a way to repair this w/o buying a new regulator, but i'm not sure if that's possible. Has anybody else had this problem or know of a way to fix it? Thanks for your help.

The gear that drives the beads might be trashed also. That's the most common culprit.

Check the FS section and SE section and post a WTB. Regulators for coupes are cheaper and more plentiful than vert regulators. Coupe regulators and vert regulators are also car specific so make certain you purchase the correct ones.

If mazda sold the little drive gear, I would just replace that. No dice on my search though. I have a passenger regulator on the way to fix mine, it failed within 2 weeks of fixing the driver's side. FFFFUUU.
