porting wastegate...quick question
after taking the actuator arm off the door, i noticed the door only moves about 1cm before it hits the side wall, and restricts air. Is it a good idea to cut into the backplate some, and also cut into the raised part of the side wall where the backplate bolts on?
i dont want it to be too thin and crack on me

It has some good ideas on wastegate control. As far as getting that flapper door to open all the way you would have to mod the back plate and then also increase the length of the actuator arm because its actually too short to open the flapper door all the way.

i took some material off the backplate as well. i took off the raised letters and a little more. i put the plate on and actuated the wg and it looks like it moves about a quarter inch more now. with the backplate off the door can definately clear the housing. so id recommend grining as much as you can.

i saw some people playing with the idea of welding in an iron peice to separate the wastegate area from the dp..so basically to run an open wastegate.
