Ive seen pictures that people have posted who have merged the two ports - never heard of any testimony after they re-installed it. Which indicates to me one of a few things:

- They never actually finished
- They finished, but it wasn't at all what they'd hoped so they kept their mouth shut as opposed to eating their words
- They ported incorrectly while finishing and screwed the iron, or it ate a corner or side seal in a few kms.

Since you asked, I won't tell you not to do it.

I would think it would flow terribly.

use plexiglass, trace your intended port onto it and lock in to the engine with the 2 dowels so you can see where the seals on the rotor ride when they pass over the port.

I can tell you roughly what the result would be if you combined the two ports with no way to close the upper section lie in stock form.

Huge amount of reversion, virtually zero power below 4-5,000rpm, screams to redline however. Idle (and everything actually) would be impossible to tune without a standalone.

I answered this in my response to the thread that asked why people don't port 6 port engines.

I use to run a street ported 6 port setup, but I kept the divider intact. It had much better top-end than my current street ported 4 port. Both are N/A setups.
