Porting a boosted N/A

so im trying to port my motor but if i bought lets say pineapples large street port template that template would be made for a n/a motor not a boosted one. the engine has turbo rotors in it. my confusion is should i buy the large street port tem. that is obviously made for a 6port witch would be n/a but the motors boosted. im just so confused on what to do because u know theres diffrenet port jobs between turbo and n/a, as meaning the ports closing/ opening in diffrenet areas. i hope aaron chims in or something

you could always call pineapple and see what their recommendation would be.

You need 6-port templates, since you have a 6-port engine.

Move the exhaust ports down about 3MM and widen them 2MM. Leave the primary ports alone but smooth all the transitions. Move the secondary out toward the rotor housing 2MM then extend it down to smooth the transition. Move the aux port out to the rotor housing 2MM and then extend it about 2MM up and in towards the iron at the top edge.

That gives you the basic port shape. Now smooth all the port bowls and the transition from the runner to the ports.

Use plexiglass to make sure you don't violate the side seal tracks and to keep the opening and closing of the ports the same. You want to obtain a scissor effect. See the no pistons engine building forum for some knowledgeable posts by Hanover and Ito among others. Paul Yaw has some good info on his site. Watch the Pineapple videos. Remember you want all the torque possible for a street car. Peak HP doesn't mean ****.

A linear graph has more area under the line than an exponential one. You want your engine to do more work than the other guy at any given RPM but Since most street driving is done between 2.5-4.5rpm that is where you want a lot of power. Not at 8k rpms.
