I just got my project 87 TII running, rebuilt engine, and only monds i have are intake, and no emmissions, after breaking in the engine, i started hearing poping noises when i do step on it or even just bringing the rpm up slowly in 4rth gear when i go on the freeway at around 5k RPM but the car wouldn't die... and i was not boosting, sometimes it does happen when i'm boosting though, my friend suggested that it may be fuel cut since i'm running the stock ECU, but i'm also running stock boost with ported waste gate S4 turbo and stock catback, any ideas?

 

Is it popping flames?

 

probably misfiring, like faulty plug wires will cause.

 

i have the racing beat spark plug wires and i bought band new NGK spark plugs when i did the rebuild, and no it don't sound like the sound flames make i'm leaning more towards fuel cut... but i just need suggestions on why
