PLZ just clarify the HP for 89 RX-7

I know I checked the site, 89's have 160 HP. Does anyone know why Intellichoice has it still at 146 HP even for the 89? They have it at 160 for the 1990 RX-7. Which is accurate for a 1989? Is this when it was "re-styled" also, 1989?

Thanks...sorry. I know newbie question, but I did check the FAQ's first

Not sure what you're looking for specifically, but I think you can find a lot of differences by analyzing the data at this link

little too technical for me. I really just meant cosmetic things. Like did it get an interior makeover, get rid of those stupid 14 in wheels, etc. Thanks though.

Yeah they defintely got rid of those 14 inch wheels. I think they moved to 15 inch wheels in 88'. Regardless, all FC wheels are fugly!

As far as interior mods go, I'm not really sure

too many things were changed.

Different engine compression I think(not positive on this).

Different intake runners and variable port setup.
Tachometer goes up to 9k on NA S5's.

The bumper strip molding around the car is now paint matched(instead of universal black).

Round/circle style tail lights

few interior changes

Automatic seatbelts

I think all S5's have 5 lugs(got rid of base/SE)

GTU took over as the base model(losing all it's cool features)

Front and rear bumper styling changed.

etc...........................................

the 86-88 is a Series 4(S4): it has square taillights, the front end is more angular, the body strip is black, it came wit 140 HP, the interior is made of brittle plastic, some come with the sport spoiler.
the 89-91 is a Series 5 (S5): round tailights, rounded front end, body color body strip instead of black, 160HP, better interior pieces(for the most part) the wheels on my 90 GTU were nice IMO....there is more but that is all I can think of off the top of my head.

^ beat me to it....but yeah.....
