Plz help...questions about removing AC

How difficult (being the scale from 1-10) is it to remove the ac (just the compressor)from a 88TII?? Is there anythings that I should pay extra attention when removing it?? Do I need to remove the bumper to do the job?? and how long (how many hrs) is gonna take for removing the ac?? I really need to know how difficult it is becuase I live in apartment, don't have a private garage. Is there any DIY link for AC removing??
Thanx

UMMM.... JUST the compress0r? About a 4 on the scale and should take about an hour....

Now the ENTIRE system about.... 7-8ish and will take SEVERAL hours.

You will need to vent the liq/gas in the system first from the low pressure side. The compressor has one wire attacted to it and (obviously) the belt and should come out witha 12mm ratchet (though it may take some odd angles ). Disconnect teh hoses and remove the compressor and you should be done.

I did it the whole system in 2 hours. I'd say it was about a 4/10 on difficulty. The hardest part was gettin the radiator out to remove the condensor. The lines on the compressor were a BITCH to get off. Just do the whole thing at once man...It's worth it

AS for a DIY: unbolt every fitting and line. Pull out of the car. Can you remove spark plugs? Then you can do this. I did use my Hayne's Manual to see what and where everything was at.

are you drinking heavly while your working? it took me and a friend less than 2hr to do evertything

i say its a 4/10 also, it would be a 2 but the thing under the dash is hard to get too

The hardest part was gettin the radiator out to remove the condensor.
the moral of that story is, jack up the front of your car, take off air deflectory thingy under the car, unbolt the mounds for the oil cooler and push it out of the way, and then just wiggle the condensor out, takes a few min's and requires a little pacients, but thats how i did it
