Exclamation PLZ Help Question About SSAUTOCHROME Catback setup **PICS**

I was wondering if this setup would be good for my stock 90 jspec turbo 2 motor. I have a 86 rx7 with turbo 2 everything and didnt know if the piping would match up the stock routing for my 86. Also Iam planning on producing a lil over 350hp would this exhaust handle it and not crap out. Will it burn off my bumper because i wouldnt like that either. Right now i have racing beat na exhaust setup from mazda trix and works good but i need something for turbo. Also one more thing will the downpipe flange work on the stock turbo off my motor. Iam just a lil worried because it is a cheap setup but dont know if its worth it cuz i dont want it torn and holes burned through in like 2 months. Thanks for yall help

The setup is pretty nice, it should fit on your car without a problem, and yes it will bolt on to teh stock turbo without a problem.

Do a search under my name for some more info, and pics!

BTW - Be warned, the DP taps down to 2.75 at the cat side, and the catback starts at 2.75 at the cat side, everything else is 3 inches!

I have it and it works just fine. No problems, no leaks, great fitment and great sound. Yes it will work with your swap. Just remember to put new hangars for the exhaust if yours are starting to sag or deteriorate. It comes out of the drivers side.

Yes it will also not melt your bumper. I also have this system and if it restricts you once you get to 350 then if you plan to run straight pipes or a 3 inch cat just cut off the small section that is 2.75 and weld a 3 inch straight pipe or 3 inch cat to it. The muffler is placed in a good area and remember that the undercarraige of non turbo and turbo cars are essentially the same. Just the driveline and exhaust are different sizes but the if you took off the exhaust and the drivetrain of both there would vertually be no way to tell if it was an 86 base or a 87 t2 or a GXL unless you looked at the suspension or brakes.

You do know these are louder than a bastard, right? Theyre actually pretty well made, and it fits well, so you cant go wrong, for the price. A customer recently bought one to be installed, but they left out his race cat (wtf is that about, anyway?). They have ZERO customer service, they do not return emails, ebay questions, and do not maintain a working phone number (that I'm aware of). So, if you have any issues with your purchase, you're on your own.

I have their catback on my FD, no complaints.

this exact setup?

i have heard they are loud but no other issues, bolts up fine and unlike the manifolds they won't crack.

they left out the race cat Kevin? does he know that they refer to the resonator as the 'race cat'? i asked them this question and they laughed at me and said it was a race cat, i laughed back and said, how is a non cat called a cat? they are pretty retarded when it comes to customer service however.

actually they sell two versions. A cheaper version without the race cat replacement and the one with a cat repalcement. There have been a couple people that bought the turbo back and went with the cheap one that does not have the cat replacement.

Also about the burnt bumper. I have noticed on a couple of these systems that I have installed now, that they can burn the bumper if they are touching it. They may not be touching the bumper initially, but if the motor or tranny mounts are worn, the exhaust can move enough to touch against the bumper when the throttle is really down. This can melt the bumper slightly.

But I can recommend them highly. I have yet to see one have any problems other than minor heat discoloration on a couple non turbo using the cat back parts.

I am having that issue, however since I replaced the 2.75 flange, and the DP is a RB; I never complain about it (not that it would've done any good!)

I emailed them before biding on it, I basically asked them if it was a FULL 3 inch system, and they replied with a simple"yes, it is!" When I received the system, I was truely dissapointed to see the DP and catback tap down to 2.75 (at the time they were only selling the DP and catback). I emailed them about it, and never received a response

On any case, YES IT IS LOUD, however, I toned it down by using a Borla XR-1 3 inch center to center muffler as mid pipe; it works like a charm, the wife even likes it

Thats not a bad price... If its loud on a turbo, would it be deafening on an N/A? I could even sell off the DP.

On a non turbo they are very nice when the cats are in place.

But with a DP and no cats a non turbo is louder than a Harley.
