yesterday i broke my key off in the ignition, so as im taking off my guage cluster to get to the ignition i notice that it is extremlely nasty in the back of the guage cluster and the dash was extremley brittle- i want to change the whole dash , do i need to take the windshield out to take the dash out,plz help

 

Look in your Haynes manual and it'll tell you how to remove it.

 

Taking out the dash is not fun. But its no too bad. The problem is any dash u can find is probably going to be just as brittle in some cases worse. I swapped my Burgandy int out for the black int from a newer gtu and made some progress. But what I am planing to do in the mean time is paint over brittle areas and cracks in the backing plastic with fiberglass reson(sp) to strengthen it. If you need some more help with the dash let me know. Oh I also have some good dashes. 2 blues and 1 black.
