if your car is made before 6/87 then it uses the resitance pack, after that date it doesnt uses it. This is only true if nobody didnt do anything major to the car, like a engine swap, or injector swap.

my car is a 88 but most everything in it is 87 minus the motor which came from another 88. i am not sure if the injectors are high imp or low imp they are red and look like the same ones that come in a s4 n/a and my ecu is a n332.

If the tab is in the middle of the injector, you need the resister pack. if it is offset, you don't need the resister pack.

I don't think you need this to start the car, but without it (if you need it) it can damage the ECU.

It powers the fuel injectors.

The center contact on that plug feeds the resistors in the solenoid resistor, and the power feeds out the resistors to the four OTHER contacts in that plug, and the wires on those other four contacts lead you to the fuel injectors.

Ignore the part in the first jpg that is lined in red. Not applicable.
