Pls dont tell me I need a new tranny.

Ok I've had 3 FC's and never had this problem. My car: 87 tii, microtech, s5 turbo, 2" single exhaust (yea i know it sux), FMIC, intake, some fuel mods.

Anyway my tranny shifts in every gear perfect, the problem is that when I shift into 3rd and cruise at any rpm, the shifter will 'disengage' itself into something that's in between neutral and 3rd, and start grinding like crazy. If i hold it into 3rd its fine. I changed into a new shifter hoping that is the problem, but its still the same. I have not checked the status of the gear oil yet. I will do that next week. LMK what u guys think. thx

you can get a rebuilt trans, or a rebuild kit at rx7world.

before you order anything, make sure the kit will work for the TII trans... im not sure if they have the same internals as the nonturb.

oops, i took toreans post as you posting...

nevermind.

ok, for future reference: GOOGLE BITCH!!

with that said...

ive been looking around and it looks like it could be that your transmission isnt bolted up securely to your engine (check nuts/bolts to see if they are loose)

or....
